Dima got up this morning and took an air tour of the Blue Hole. That did not interest me so I spent the time reading in the hammock on the front balcony. It was a great morning.
This was all after a run where I did my usual and fell. I had not fallen on a run in a very long time but I broke that streak. I did not do too much damage to myself as I only scrapped my knees a little and some on my right hand. I am very good at falling and not breaking the fall so no broken bones. Not an ideal start to the morning but I survived and it has not stopped other activities.
After Dima got back, it was decided that we should so another snorkeling adventure to the Hol Chan Marine reserve in the afternoon. We basically were leisurely and relaxed for the rest of the morning.
We went to the same Dive/Snorkel location, Chuck & Robbie’s. The first experience was great so we figured use them again. The people are super friendly.
I learned how small the island was as I had asked Jake, Caye Casa owner, to make reservations for us at Caramba’s for dinner at 7:00 pm. While we were waiting for the trip to stop, Robbie came up to me while on the phone and said Jake could not get reservations at 7:00 but was 8:00 good. It completely through me off. I could not figure out how Jake knew we were at Chuck & Robbies. I probably told him we were snorkeling again and since Caye Casa had arranged the first one, he knew we would use it again.
Hol Chan is a small channel through the barrier reef that has coral walls on both sides of the channel. We saw lots of fish, sea turtles, a couple of rays, I think one was a wing ray and not a sting ray. There were the usual groupers, snappers, Sargent major, parrot and angel fish.

Another fun part was the water was deeper so you could swim down farther. There was a swim through cave, I went down but was not willing to go through the cave part.
After that we went to shark alley, where they fed the sharks and we could swim around them. The sharks were much bigger this time. We could not swim amongst them as with the other trip.

The group on the boat this time was interesting. There were some Native Béliziens who were super nice and it was fun to talk to them. One young man, lived in Taipei, Taiwan. He had gotten a scholarship to study in Taiwan as Belize has diplomatic relations with Taiwan. He studied hospital administration and stayed on to work in Taiwan. The others were fun to talk to as well. There was a French family so I got to speak a little French to them.
After cleaning up, we headed out had found two bars for drinks before our dinner reservation. I had rum punch since I was in the tropics. I finally got Dima to embrace island drinking.

Dinner at Caramba’s was good but probably my least favorite meal so far. I had garlic shrimp.

It was another fun day in Belize.
