Me Day

After being entertaining for eight days, I took a me day. Every now and then you just need a day to regenerate.

It was a rainy, cloudy, chilly day so I stayed home and read most of the day. I luxuriated in having nothing on the agenda and needed to do nothing.

In the end, I went to dinner at Le Panache as usual. I always enjoy it there. Wilfried, the photographer and cyber security expert I have gotten to know, was there as well. We had a great conversation about scuba diving, travel, the Ganesh festival in India, which I have seen. We discussed other religious festivals that we have experienced in our travels. It was a fun evening.

I have really gotten into a rut with food there. I had the shrimp dumplings and the scallops again. Next week, I need to try the demi magret and the pork dumplings.

As usual Enzo plied us with wines to taste. We did finish up with a shot. Next week not as much drinking as it is the weekend of the half marathon.

Le Panache is closed Saturday evening for a private party where someone is celebrating their 33rd birthday and the theme is Christ. They have to come costumed as something religious. I told them my story of how supposedly when a person is resurrected, they come back with whatever body they had as a 33 year old as that was the age Christ was when crucified. I have always joked I wish that I had known that at 33 as I would have worked harder at what I looked like then.

I walked home just before midnight and the streets were a little less busy than normal. I thought there was a curfew for the streets I walk home but it had not gone into effect when I walked home.

Saturday is supposed to be another day of protests so we will see what happens.
