Regular Day

I feel like I am returning to normal in Alexandria. I have started doing the normal things one has to do in life. I had done some of them before but I also was stuffing in lots of must dos prior to this.

I got up and did life maintenance. I had to do laundry after my trip to San Diego. I did a combination of laundry in the U.S. where we have large washing machines that run quickly and large dryers. Instead of an hour cycle, mine were done in 30-35 minutes. I could put most of the clothes in the dryer that takes about 20 minutes. I have gotten used to air drying clothes and still air dry lots of the clothes. This process does make laundry somewhat more efficient. I think in many ways I prefer total air drying but am willing to use the efficient method.

In the afternoon, I met Vanessa for a run. We are working on getting Vanessa back into running. I devised a 2 mile walk/jog workout where we ran a half mile and then walked a half mile and repeated it to make two miles. Vanessa did great and we both made both the 1/2 mile jogs at a reasonable pace. I had run to the meeting point and so ran back and got in 5 miles overall with 4 of them running.

In the evening, I met Carrie and Mike for dinner at Sfoglina in Rosslyn. It was a nice Italian restaurant that I had never been to before. It was a share food restaurant which is really sort of ideal for me. You can eat as much as you want and not feel wasteful and you get a variety of choice.

It feels good to be getting back to normal routines.
