First Day Back in Alexandria

Since I had taken the redeye back from San Diego, I was pretty tired. I made breakfast and unpacked.

I am pretty organized and probably a little OCD so I have to unpack immediately when I get back from a trip. Put the dirty clothes in the laundry basket, put the electronic chargers and those type of things back in their place and just make sure everything is orderly. The good thing about most of my trips is that I do not take much so it is fairly easy to get it all done.

I was slightly irritated with myself as I had taken one too many outfits to wear. I did not wear one pair of shorts and a t-shirt. I try to be totally efficient and make sure I do not take too much and that I use everything I take.

On the way back from the airport to stop and the CVS to get aloe and lotion from the sunburn. I have not been this sunburned in years and so did not have lotion to help deal with it. I am very careful about sun as I have had various dermatological issues and try to be protective of my skin. I was just stupid this weekend and was paying for it.

After some food, getting unpacked, I took a nap. It felt good to catch up on sleep and just relax. I did sleep on the plane but still needed more at I was going to a wine class in the evening. Typical of me to pile on activities one after another.

In the evening, I went to Revel for a Laurent-Perrier champagne tasting. I absolutely love champagne and was excited to go even with the little sleep I had.

Molly Finnegan was the rep for Laurent-Perrier and she was very informative, lively and engaging. She was one of the best, if not the best, speakers I have heard at one of the Revel classes. The champagne was good. We had six pours with three bites to accompany the champagne. I was good as I only bought one of the bottles we tasted.

I went with Barbara and Emily which is always fun. We hung out with some of the other regulars so that was nice as well.

I did crash when I got home.
