Preparing for my departure.

I did a final good cleaning of the apartment. I want to make sure I can return so want to these things in good order. The apartment is easy to clean as it has tile floors and composite floors so vacuuming and mopping the floors is very easy. Also, the decor is minimalist so there is not much to dust or otherwise clean.

The dishwasher makes it easy to do the dishes so that was another easy task. I will have to hand wash my final dishes but again there will not be many so that will not take a lot of time.

I did my final laundry so I would not be taking too many dirty clothes home with me. It is not much fun to have to immediately do laundry when you get back from a trip. I will have to do one load but that should be all.

I did head out to buy a chocolatine for breakfast as I had finished up the cereal so needed something for breakfast. That is going to be my breakfast for the next couple of days as I do not want to buy more food. I cannot say I am upset by the prospect of some good chocolatines before I leave.

In the evening, I went to La Reserve for my Aperol Spritz which is a regular activity. The staff is always welcoming. The people watching is fun and it is a nice place to hang out.

As I was walking to the restaurant where I was meeting Elliot for dinner. I found another Fete with music. This was supported by the City of Toulouse government. It was a neighborhood party. There was live music and some stands about the things in the area and a food stall.

I had a nice dinner at Aux Pied Sous La Table with Elliot. I really like the restaurant as the food is good, the staff friendly and just the ambiance. The menu is limited but there were options that I had not tried the last time I went so that made it nice. I had Oeuf Parfait which is a poached egg is a broth. I have never been a really egg fan but it is a common dish here in Toulouse so I have it on occasion. For my main course, there was an improvisation on Chinese pork dumplings. The pork was shredded and cooked in an Asian sauce with a dumpling on the side. The pork was not in the dumpling. It was interesting but I found the dumpling heavy.

They had the sorrel ice cream for dessert again and I add it as it was so good the first time I tried it.

Dinner was fun and it was fun to talk to Elliot outside of the runs. He is looking at a Ph.D. Program in Sweden so might not be here in Toulouse when I return in the fall which will be too bad. I hope he gets in but I would miss him if he was not at the runs.

We are at the part of life where I am sort of in Toulouse and sort of in Alexandria. I have been looking more at things that are going on in Alexandria so I have things to do when I get back. I have chatted with more friends to begin making plans.
