My last days of this trip are turning out to be great

I started getting organized so I could pack and get ready for my return trip to Alexandria/Washington. I always stress out about packing and those activities. I was figuring out what I needed to clean in the apartment before I leave. I want the host to be happy so I can come back in the fall.

In the morning, I went to the Victor Hugo market as I needed some fruit for the final breakfasts. I, also, wanted my traditional Maison Pillon chocolatine for Sunday breakfast. I bought a baguette from my favorite boulangerie – Credo.

In the afternoon, I did a lazy stroll around the center of Toulouse. I stopped at Les Pêcheur De Sable for a demi-pinte (small) beer and watched the activity on the river.

On my walk over for dinner, I ran across another random samba dance activity. They were in the Place Saint-Pierre this time. There was the leader giving lessons and all the participants joining in.

For dinner, I went to La Braiserie as I wanted my last dose of Foie Gras. I had lamb chops with a nice half bottle of Languedoc red wine. I am always impressed with the grilling of the meat over a wood burning fire grill inside the kitchen. One man was doing all the cooking for a fairly good size restaurant.

After dinner, I was walking back to the apartment and I heard what sounded like live music across the Pont Neuf in St. Cyprien. I decided to wander over there and see what was going on. I found a band playing on the sidewalk in front of a bar. There was a crowd drinking, dancing and listening to the music. I decided to stay and join the group. I bought some beer and hung out. The band was very colorful and played jazz type music. It was a fun way to end the evening. It is just another reason I love Toulouse. These type of random events are very common place.

As I crossed the Pont Saint-Pierre back to my side of the Garonne, I noticed that the samba dancing had moved to the steps just below the Place by the river and was still going on. I was happy to enjoy all of this as one of my last nights here.

The weather has definitely changed from the heat wave to cooler days and evening. It was cloudy during the day but cleared up by evening.
