As I have stated previously, I have signed up for the Toulouse Half Marathon. I have gotten into full training, which I need to do since I have not run that far since I ran the Toulouse Urban Trail in the spring.
There is a Parc that is about 2 miles from my apartment that have three routes, 3 km, 6 km and 10 km. I have figured out the routes for the 3 km and 6 km but have never been able to run the 10 km on the route shown from the maps. The red on the map.

I have probably run in the park 20 times over my trips here and on the 10 km route have never gotten it correct. When Jesse was here, we (I) missed the turn at the point right under the ICI arrows. We ran through an area that seemed very sketchy but a nice man pointed us the correct way without being menacing even though it could be. We were running on a path that had shotgun shells scattered on it.
This time, there was better signage at that point so I was able to make the correct turn to head towards the lake. I was getting confident that I could make the whole route without messing up but I was wrong.
When I got to the Écluse de Lalande, I found signs pointing back to the park. This is an area of light industrial buildings and roads, not a dedicated path. I thought I was doing correct but realized there was no more signage and I got lost. I am not sure how I missed the correct turn but I ran right past it. With the help of some sense of direction and Google maps, I made it back to the path I needed to finish the loop.

You will see my routes between miles 6 and 8 does not look anything like the map of the Parc routes. Basically, I mande a long dip whereas if I had run from the blue right above 7 to the orange right before 8, I would have completed the loop correctly.
One day, I will finish the look correctly. I think the next run through the park will have to be the opposite direction as now I I have the image above, I think I can complete it. I will update the blog if that happens.
For dinner, I made braised rabbit leg. Every now and then, I decide that I should embrace some of the food that I do not get in the U.S. As you can guess, rabbit is not used highly in cooking in the U.S. but is available in the Marché Victor Hugo. It is interesting in that it is sold at the poultry stands. I would not think it is poultry but the unusual foods especially game is sold at the poultry stands.
I researched the ways to cook rabbit leg and found recipes to braise rabbit. I did not have all the ingredients for a specifics recipes so I improvised. I browned the leg, then added onions and garlic. I added red wine that I had bought earlier to consume with dinner. Then added, mustard with the seeds and thyme. I slow cooked the rabbit for an hour. The wine, mustard, onions, garlic and thyme made a very nice thick sauce.

I reheated the ratatouille I had made for Sunday’s dinner and sautéed spinach. It turned out to be a great dinner and one that I do not get often.

The wine – the $6.00 bottle, was remarkably good. It was Fronton which I have been drinking quite a lot as it is the most local wine.
