I was not feeling much motivation so I basically relaxed and read most of the day. There are some days when I just do not feel like doing much so I revert to some hibernation and reading.
In the evening, I did head out to the cafe that overlooks the Garonne and had a Panaché. It is always fun to sit by the river and just enjoy the evening. Unfortunately, because of the work on the barrier in the river and the drought, water levels are very low so the river sounds are not as good as previous visits. The beauty of the river is still there.
As usual I had dinner at Le Panache. I was later than usual getting there as I waited close to sunset to leave the cafe. The boys were amusing and pointed to their watches and asked where I had been. It is fun to know that they look for me on Friday evenings.
I had the Lieu Noir (Pollock) with stir fried vegetables. It was definitely an interesting combination. The fish was done perfectly. The vegetables were zucchini, red peppers and mushrooms. It was delicious. I love mushrooms so the veggies were perfect. The Saint Nectaire cheese was dessert. It is creamy cheese with a hard round. As my friends would say, stinky cheese. I like the cheese for dessert option.
I had a glass of chardonnay to start – Enzo and I both said we were not overly partial to chardonnay but he was trying this one out. It was not buttery or oaky so was ok. With dinner I had the Vouvray which I had last Friday. It was delicious and perfect with the main dish.

Morgane, Enzo’s girlfriend, came in and it was good to see her. She seemed happy that I was back. Morgane’s mother was with her and we were introduced. It was the first time anyone had even said “Enchante” to me. It was so very French. We had our conversation in French – mine probably not very good. Morgane’s mother said they talk about me a great deal – I am sure it is about the crazy American. It was nice to meet more of the extended family.
I had a minor crisis as I spilled on my phone, I had tried to dry it off but must have gotten some water in the charging place and when I got home I could not charge my phone. It finally resolved itself which made me happy. I had to do diagnostics and repair. For a while I was worried I might have killed the phone. Being somewhat OCD, I have two phones and brought the other one in case something happened to the first phone. I back the phone up regularly to ensure I would be safe. Glad that it all worked out but it was stressful until it resolved.
