I woke up a little tired as I think the travel and all the activities had caught up with me. I have gone from being fairly sedentary (running a couple times a week but driving almost everywhere else) to being a walker again. Since I have been back in Toulouse, I have averaged 15k steps per day. It is god to be back in the walking mode.
I had a nice breakfast, posted to the blog and just relaxed in the morning. I did not really have any plans so it was nice just to take it easy. Also, read my book.
After my usual lunch, I headed out for a walk as I usually do. I ended up back at the cafe on the river. I read and had a demi (half) pint of thé Panaché which I had on Thursday. The weather here has been glorious so walking around and sitting at a cafe has ben the perfect way to spend time. It is in the mid-seventies with a light breeze, beautiful blue skies with white fluffy clouds.
While out walking, I had seen signs for a brass band festival in the Jardin des Plantes so walked over there around 6:30 pm. I found the festival and listened to a brass band playing. The festival is also going on Saturday and so I will go back. There are beer and snacks for sale.
The fun and surprising part is I ran into someone I know. Unfortunately, I cannot remember his name but I see him at Le Panache. He is another of the regulars. It is somewhat amazing to run into someone I know in a city where I really do not know that many people.
He was working as a photographer for the event so told me more about it. He said it would be larger on Saturday. The group who organized the event invites brass bands from other cities in France to come and perform. He, also, said that there would be various circus acts as well. I will definitely go again.
After hanging out at the brass festival, I went to dinner at Le Panache. It is always fun to be there. It was a very busy night at the restaurant and Enzo and Ervim were running around like crazy. We still had a chance to talk and hangout. Enzo allowed me to try a new wine that they are serving at the restaurant and it was very good, a Vouray. The food as usual was great.

I did call it an evening fairly early as I was tired and thought sleep would be good.
I keep forgetting to add this to the blog. On the flight over, I had asked the flight attendants to speak French to me so I would start to get back in the habit. One of the flight attendants (male) told me the only way to be good at French was to sleep with a French person. Not sure I am going to go that route but was an interesting observation.
