One of the reasons I came back in early June was to have dermatalogical procedure. It was determined that I had a basal cell carcinoma (have had a number before) and it needed to removed with MOHS surgery. I have had that type of procedure before so knew what to expect. The surgery was quick and easy. They only had to do one scraping so it was really basic and easy. Now all I have to do is deal with the wound. It slightly complicated as it is on my back so dealing with bandages and cleaning it are more difficult. One good thing was that no stitches were needed so I have no restrictions on activities so I can run.
Last night, I made dinner at home for the first time. I have had a very busy week with seeing friends and doing regular activities. I was able to get some haddock – not from a fresh seafood market as I can in Toulouse but I did buy it for the seafood person at Safeway. The rest of dinner was fresh asparagus and some salad.

I got the asparagus from a vegetable/fruit stand that I have frequented before I went to Toulouse. Eric, the farmer, has a farm in Gettysburg, PA about 1.5 hours from here. He comes down once a week with produce for his family farm. I really like his produce and he is a very nice person so it is good to buy things from him. The produce is good and comparable to Toulouse markets but somewhat more expensive. I like that I know the farm it comes from.
I took Emily to Reagan for a flight. I was paying her back for all the times she has taken me or picked me up from Dulles on my trips to Toulouse. She was going to Boston to see one of her great-niece perform in a dance recital.
Other than that those activities, it was a normal day. We did have some intense thunderstorms. The power flickered but a little but luckily it did not go out entirely.
I think I am finally getting back into the swing of things in Alexandria.
