We are beginning a string of 3 holidays in a row in France. Starting tomorrow is May Day – 1st of May, the equivalent of our Labor Day, next Friday is VE Day (May 8th – Victory in Europe) and then Ascension Day (May 14th). I gather that many people combine the days to take a long vacation. It is an interesting month and very different from the U.S. where we spread our holidays out so that there is only one a month. The closest we have to this is New Year Day and Martin Luther King Day which are both in January. If you had Christmas, that would be 3 holidays in 30 days.
The running group was smaller as a lot of people were doing other things at the start of the holiday weekend. Both Marc and Elliot were doing other things so they were not at the run. John, the scientist who lived in Rockville but now lives here because of the Trump Administration, was there. He is excited as there is a demonstration and rally for May Day and he is going.

The rest of the day was normal. I went to Terra Tolosa for lunch. I cannot write a great deal about it as the menu had not changed for the last couple of weeks so I had some things that I had had before. Two of them are my favorites at the moment. The mackerel fillets and the Clafoutis.

After lunch, I did some grocery shopping. I needed some cereal for my breakfasts.
The weather was iffy, as it was somewhat cloudy with chances of rain. The wind was gusty and it looks like we are going to have more wind tomorrow. The wind here is definitely different than Alexandria as it blows at 10-15 miles an hour with gusts of 25 mph. The difference is the wind can blow this way for a day or two consistently. It really does not stop anything from going on, it is just part of life.
