I am in the Polaris lounge at Dulles (IAD) waiting for flights that will take me to Frankfurt and then to Tallinn, Estonia. Two friends (Liam and Tom) and I are doing a trip to the Baltic states, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Having never been to these countries I am really excited about seeing them. Firsts in travel are always fun. After the Baltic states, Tom and I are going to Gdańsk, Poland. Gdańsk is also on the Baltic. It is where World War II started and the Solidarity movement that freed Poland from Communist rule started. After that stop, I am heading to Toulouse, France. As most of you know, I am planning a sojourn in France and this is the reconnaissance trip to figure out neighborhoods so I will know where I want to start my sojourn in France.

I am very excited as this is the start of the real adventure and making my dream of living abroad for a period of time real! I want to make the most of the next chapter of my life and this is starting that process and ensuring it is successful.
