Pamela, Kimberly and I spent a nice day wandering Toulouse and enjoying the pink city!
We ended the day with a fantastic meal at Py-R a Michelin Two Star restaurant. It was one of the most amazing dinners I have had. The dinner lasted 4 hours. I will write a separate post chronicling the dinner but this post is just a standard “day in the life” of post.
I met Pamela and Kimberly at their hotel and then headed toward the Place de Capitole with the intention of going over to the Victor Hugo market. When we got to the Place de Capitole, the Wednesday open air market was going on. The ladies did some shopping in the market which was fun. I usually just walk quickly through it.

Kimberly saw that a tour group was going into the Capitole building. I was surprised as it is usually closed to tourists as official activities are going on in the building. It is where the city government meets and where weddings are held.
We decided to take advantage and see if we could get in the building (something that I had never been able to do before). It was open so we toured the building. I head heard the murals and art work inside were spectacular and it was. It was great to see the building.

I told Pamela and Kimberly that they brought luck as the weather turned fantastic right before their arrival and the Capitole building was open.
After touring the Capitole, we made it to the market. We had coffee, croissant and hot chocolate at one of the cafe stands in the market and then wandered around the market. Pamela bought some Iberico ham from Maison Garcia to take home to her husband.
Both Kimberly and Pamela were looking for some French food stuffs to take home as gifts so we went to my favorite Epicerie where they were able to get salt, Dijon mustard, some pates and other goodies.
Before lunch at Terra Tolosa, we wandered some more and the ladies did some more window shopping and just enjoying the city.
We had lunch at Terra Tolosa on their terrace as the weather was great. Thomas, Pierre and Remi were as welcoming as usual which was very nice.
Pamela and Kimberly started with the Trout Tartare which I had last week so I chose the beet carpaccio. Both were excellent as usual.

We all had the merlu for the main course with grilled vegetables. The fish is always good to just the perfect texture so it melts in your mouth.

The dessert for me was the panna cotta that I loved the last time I was at Terra Tolosa. Kimberly had the Entremet which I did not take a picture of so only a view of the panna cotta.

We stopped at another food shop and Pamela very nicely bought me a bottle of the Comtesse du Barry champagne as a thank you gift. I cannot wait to try it.

On the walk back to the hotel, Kimberly saw this craft cocktail shop. It sell pre-made cocktails that were created by the best barman in France. The barman was a Meilleur Ouvrier de France. This is a competition held for craftsmen in France every four years. It picks the best craftsmen in many different categories and fields – bread, pastry, cooking, now I understand cocktails, carpentry and others – it has almost 100 categories. The cocktails were fun to try. It was a great random find.

After our wandering we took a hour break before we headed out for dinner. On the way to dinner, we had an Apéro at the Brassiere de Beaux Arts along the edge of the river.
There will be a separate post that covers dinner as it was amazing. It was prix fixe dinner and it covered about sixty different tasting bites and bigger menu items. It took us 4 hours to finish dinner.
