I finally succumbed to a little bit of jet lag and being fatigued. I am a strong believer in just powering through when you travel long distances. I do not believe in napping when you arrive as I think that delays your body from adjusting to the new time zone. I just stay on the regular schedule. I try to go to bed at my regular time only based on the new time zone. It work pretty well but sometimes it allows some fatigue to build up.
Since I was a little fatigued after the travel and then doing all the things I wanted to do being back in Toulouse — dinner at Le Panache, running with Run in Toulouse, walking around the city and just enjoying being back — I decide to take a rest day.
I stayed in the apartment most of the day and read. The weather was beautiful so I could have the windows open and enjoy the fresh air. I had breakfast and lunch.
In the evening, I had reservations at Reflets. It is another of my go to restaurants in Toulouse. The meal was as good as I remember. My first course was grilled white asparagus with a citrus sauce. The asparagus was very tender and nicely charred. The citrus rind added a nice flavor. There was a goat cheese mouse on the side.

For the main course, I had gnocchetti with green peas and crisp sage. I am a big fan of fresh peas so this dish was right in my flavor zone. The was another citrus sauce on it which gave it a nice brilliant flavor. I had a nice glass of white burgundy with it.

I skipped dessert as I was pretty full after the appetizer and the main course. I find that sometime I get carried away with the options of eating as the food is so good.
On the way over to the restaurant, I saw what I thought was a protest for Free Kurdistan but it ends up they were just celebrating Newroz. I saw an article in The NY Times that explained the holiday. While I was eating dinner, the Kurdistan group shot off some small fireworks. Most of the diners did not realize that there was the group on the Port de Vigurie (the side of the river) and jumped when the fireworks went off. I explained to the server that Kurds were protesting. These events are just part of the fabric of life in Toulouse. There is always something going on in the city.

The walk home was lovely as usual with the different building lit up and reflecting on the river. Since the weather was lovely there were tons of people out and about. Another nice day in Toulouse.
