I run often in the Parc de Garonne. It is just over two miles along the banks of the Garonne to get to the entrance of the Parc. The Parc is a large open area with running, biking, walking and riding trails. One side of the running routes is along the banks of the Garonne on a dirt trail and the other side is a paved path.

There are three circuits that you can take around the park. There are a 2.5 km, a 4 km, 5.5 km, and a 9.5 km route through the park. It has been the bane of my existence to figure out each circuit. Over time I have figured out how to run the 2.5, 4, and 5.5 km routes. I have never completely worked out how to run the 9.5 circuit. I ran it one time and came back the Canal Lateral and did not find the route back into the park from the canal. When Jesse and I were running I took a wrong turn and went through/by a field that was kind of sketchy. I am not sure why I cannot find the totally correct route.

The run today is the closest to making the complete route that I have achieved. I did get back from the Canal Lateral to the park but I ended up back on the dirt path along the Garonne when I was trying to get back to the paved path. I am not sure why I cannot figure this out correctly. Granted the signage is not the best and is not located at all the places that would help. I have two more runs to figure out the route before I leave this time. I am determined to run the correct circuit before I leave.

Before the run, I did my usual life maintenance of doing laundry and cleaning the apartment. I am getting very efficient at this activity. I do not clean that much back in DC as I have a cleaning service who cleans my apartment. I do have to do my laundry but with large washing machine and dryer, it does not take as much time.

I was fascinated as I started the dishwasher right as I was leaving it go for my run. I did a 10 mile run and it took me an hour and twenty minutes. After the run I stopped at the Carrefour to get a Powerade and something to drink for the apartment. When I got back from all of this, the dishwasher was still running. I have never timed the dishwasher at home but I do not take it takes that long. I will have to see when I get back.
