For most of the day I rested and caught up on rest and recovered from the on the go week with Jesse and Jen. It was a great week but we were on the go all the time. I needed a at home relaxing day.
After returning to my normal routines, breakfast and lunch at home. Doing the last load of laundry. I spent the day reading and relaxing.
In the evening, I wanted to go to Le Panache for my regular Friday dinner. I decided to walk to the Place de Capitole and check out the Wine Tasting Festival that was being held there.
The wine festival was highlighting 40 wineries from the southwest region of France. For 10 euros, you got a glass, a canvas bag and the program for the wine festival. With the glass you could walk around and taste wines from each winery.

I took my glass and started wandering around a stopping at different wineries for a taste. One I stopped at was La Colombière. One of the reasons I picked it was the poster and label.

I thought it was a great look for the wine. I tasted it and it was good. I ended up buying a bottle as it was 12 euros. I showed the bottle to Enzo at Le Panache and he said he knew the wine. He also said that the poster was a play on a movie called Les Tontons Flingueurs. The title means the Uncle Gunslingers so they are saying the wine is the Frontons Gunslingers. Fronton is a wine region just north of Toulouse. The wine is made primarily from Negrette.
As well as the wine, you can buy charcuterie and other food. I was intrigued by the oyster stand. I love oysters so thought it would be fun to have some. The stand workers were shucking fresh oysters for each order. The oysters came with mignonette sauce, fresh lemons and forks to eat them. Six oysters cost 12 euros.

As well as wine and food, there was music. There were two women playing violins and serenading the festival goers.

It was a fun way to start the evening.
After the wine festival, I walked over to Le Panache for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised to run into Nancy and Mike having dinner there. I had recommended Le Panache to them and they took my recommendation. It is feeling like a small world in Toulouse when I run into people I know.
Dinner at usual was great. I tried a new dish, their mussels. I am a huge fan of mussels and their mussels with chorizo is very good. I had the mushroom starter as well.
Enzo and I talked running as we are both running the half marathon. It is fun to talk about common things that we like.
On the way home, I heard music and found this band playing in the Port de la Daurade. It is one of those spontaneous things that one always runs across in Toulouse. I posted a video on IG and this is a screenshot from the video.

All in all a good and unexpected day.
