Quick Post

Most of today was spent getting ready for Jesse and Jen’s visit. I tend to be someone what of a perfectionist so I get carried away when guests are coming. Also, they are my first visitors to Toulouse and I want to show them what a wonderful city it is!

I went shopping in the morning to get cheese, charcuterie, and some fruit so we could have something to nibble on to go with the wine I bought yesterday.

I, also, stopped at the coffee roaster to get some coffee for Jen. Neither Jesse or I drink coffee but Jen is very coffee oriented so I needed to have coffee on hand for her. I did the whole transaction in French which was great. I did stumble on French Press as that is not the word they use for it. The salesclerk helped me out. She even complimented me on my French.

Last stop on the list was the patisserie (Rose Pousin) that I like and i got a series of mini pastries so again we had some things to snack on.

The biggest issue was washing the sheets. The mattress must have changed in the Airbnb since the last time I was here. There were two sets of sheets (one I had used the last time I was here and a new set of the bed). I was changing the bed and the old sheets did not fit the mattress. I had already decided to wash the sheets for myself but this meant it was necessary to give Jesse and Jen clean sheets.

There is no dryer as I have mentioned in the apartment and the drying rack is not really set up for sheets. My living room was an improvised drying room and looked it.

The good things was the sheets were dry by evening so I am able to make the bed in the morning with clean sheets.

I cooked dinner at home tonight as I was tired of all my activities in getting ready. I used the leftover vegetables I had to make ratatouille and it turned out well. I, also, made fish in a wine sauce with Provençal spices. It was not as good a restaurant dinners in Toulouse but was good.

I am looking forward to my first visitors!
