It was a fairly wild weather day yesterday. There were numerous thunderstorms and heavy downpours. I like the thunderstorms and rain here in Toulouse as without a lot of city noise it is almost like you are at the beach with the sounds of rain and the storms. It was not super windy with the storms (or at least in the center part of the city) so there did not seem to be any major damage.
I was home for some of the storms and it was fun to watch the rain out the windows. It did complicate life a little as I had done laundry and it must air dry so having a rainy day made that a little harder as I could not have the windows all the way open. Also, as an aside, both this blog and the IG account where I post pictures tends to give a lovely view of life when not every day is beautiful. Trying to figure out how to dry bed linens without a dryer is a challenge. Especially when raining.

I did get my walk in before the rain started which was good. I needed to buy some wine as I had not been able to get any on Sunday as the usual wine shop I frequent was unexpectedly closed. I wandered over to where I knew there were some wine shops in hopes of one of them being open on Monday. I did find a nice shop and had a good conversation (in French) about various wines of the region and bought a very nice one. I had tried the vineyard’s wine when I was here in the fall but not had this particular one. It is oak aged and very bright. It has a great deep purple color.

Between rain showers I wandered to Le Reserve as I wanted to get out of the house more and enjoy the city even in the rain. I had Aperol Spritz and ended up having to have two as the rain started again and I had to wait until it abated some before I could walk home.

Talked to a friend on the phone as he has texted me to say he and his family were going to be in DC over the weekend and wanted to know if I was going to be around. Unfortunately, I will still be in Toulouse. We caught up on life and what his family is doing. Time does fly and children get older without you even knowing it.
All in all it was a good day.
