I guess life is getting a little routine and mundane as I did not really do anything today. I did the usual walk around the city. I guess I am getting a little obsessed with my step count which has happened in the past. I am determined to get 10,000 steps a day and have achieved that for the last 19 days. This means I need to walk 5 miles everyday. Most of the days, it is easy to do a walk around the city and achieve the goal. On more lazy days, I have to find creative routes so I do not have to walk far out of the center of the city to achieve the goal. Today was a wander to meet the goal so the walk map is pretty funny. Also, Garmin can be off some times as it showed me walking out into the Garonne today when I did a slight loop on the street in front of the apartment to finish the walk. The street runs along the bank of the Garonne but the Garmin map had me out in the river. I only waked 3.5 on the Garmin walk and accomplished the rest when I went out to dinner.

Dinner was at Le Petit Marais. It is my standard Saturday night restaurant for dinner. Gabriel, the server, and I had a nice conversation at the end of the evening about tipping culture, general French culture vs. American, wages, work ethic and other differences between our two countries. Gabriel mentioned that the Pope was American which was unexpected and that America had much influence in the world. I think there is some thought that somehow Trump manipulated this but I pointed out that the Pope was not a big Trump fan. I think the opposite might be true that the Pope was elected so that he could show that not all Americans were MAGA fans.
I, also, stopped for a glass of wine in the nice weather during my walk. I enjoy the late afternoon wine in the warm and sunshine.
All in all a good day but not exciting.
Yes, I think you’re right about the new Pope.
