Another fun night at La Panache

As I posted earlier, the chef at La Panache left last week so I was not sure how the menu was going to be on this trip. I should not have worried as the food is still fantastic. There have been some changes to the menu all three that I had were fantastic.

I was offered a new option on the menu to taste and tell them what I thought about it. It was shrimp tartare with green curry sauce. It was very good. It has a great freshness and the curry was not super spicy but added a good flavor. This dish was on the house from them.

The second new dish was crispy duck. It was just the right temperature on the inside and was super crispy on the outside. I love the Asian influences in the cooking at the restaurant. It mixes the Spanish tapas theme of the food with the French ingredients and the Asian spices and presentation. It has harissa mayonnaise drizzled on it.

Dessert was strawberries with mouse and cherry sauce. There were hints of white chocolate added for texture. Again, presentation and the combo of flavors were fantastic.

Besides the fantastic food. The staff are all super friendly and it is just a very nice and good restaurant to frequent. It has become my “happy” place in Toulouse. I go every Friday and I always feel welcome and comfortable there.

The rest of the day was spent in my usual activity of walking around the city. I needed a baguette for lunch so I headed to the Boulangerie that I like in the St. Cyprien district to get it. Have a nice lunch of patè, cheese, radishes and bread followed by fresh cherries and a chocolate pastry.
