More Standard Post Today

I have made a practice of trying to walk 10,000 steps every day since there are such nice places to walk and scenery to see. I have accomplished it for a large portion of the time I have been here except for rainy days and so “rest” days.

Today I walked along both banks of the Garonne through what is know collectively as the Parc de Garonne. I think the whole path is a total of 32 kilometers. I would guess I have walked along about 10 kilometers of it totally. I have walked many portions more often but from end to end I have walked 10 kilometers.

There was lots of fun activity on the paths as usually. There was a children’s school athletic day in one of the bigger park areas.

I watched crew practice on the river for a while and it was lovely seeing the shells gliding on the flat parts of the river. One of the coaches was riding a bike along the bank of the river giving advice and training guidance.

I saw lots of other sports activity but did not take pictures of all of them. There was beach volleyball, tennis, rollerskating and rollerblading, basketball, soccer and more. Toulouse is definitely a sports oriented city. It is one of the reasons I enjoy being here.

After the walk, I had a beer at La Reserve as a treat. The afternoon was lovely and it was great to sit outside. One of the beers on draft was Brooklyn Defenders from New York which I found interesting. I did not have that by 1664 Blanche which is a French beer company.

Enjoyed my FaceTime call and then made dinner.

I did think it will be nice to see friends and have real conversations as my French is not good enough for in-depth conversations. Not wanting to rush back but will be nice to have friend interactions and conversation where my brain is not overloaded.
