Easter Monday is a holiday in France so many things were closed or had shorten hours.
I took the opportunity to do laundry (required weekly) and to clean the apartment. One of the ways that renting an apartment rather than staying in a hotel makes this trip different. I am actually living here so have to do the regular work that one would do at home. Cleaning is not too hard as the apartment is not large and also it is only me so it does not get overly dirty.
I like the environmentally friendly air drying of laundry that I have to use here as there is no dryer but it means I have to think ahead to give everything the time to dry before I need to use it. It usually takes about 18 hours probably for the cotton items to dry. Luckily most of what I brought in the way of essentials are made of high tech fabric so they do not take too long to dry. I learned the usefulness of this type of clothing on my round the world backpacking trip. I have kept most of the items and save them for traveling.
I made dinner and enjoyed the fresh products and the wine.
I am off on Wednesday for a field trip to Montpellier so that should be fun and I will have more to report.
I, also, tracked all my friends who were running the Boston marathon and all of them did well except one who did not finish. I feel sorry for her but having done that in one Boston, I understand and am sympathetic to her feelings.
