Relaxing Day

As the British would say, I had a “lie in” day. I was a little tired and decided it would be nice to take a day off of all the wandering and running I had been doing so stayed home and read. It was nice just to relax and not have to feel that I needed to do anything for the day. Not my usual activity but it is good to break the routine some times.

I was even lazy about making dinner and decided to go out to dinner. I made reservations at Le Petit Marais. It is a restaurant not far from the apartment. I had walked by it a number of times but had not eaten there. It was a very good choice.

They have a set price menu for 25 euros which includes appetizer, main dish and dessert. The glasses of wine were 4 euros. I had foie gras from appetizer and it was made in the restaurant. I followed that up with Canard (duck breast) in pepper sauce with roasted potatoes and carrots. For dessert, I had chocolate fondant. I had two glasses of wine with dinner. It was all delicious and reasonably priced.

The restaurant is very quaint and typically small as most restaurants are in Toulouse. There were seats for 18 people inside and about 10 outside. While I have there all the tables inside filled up. I was impressed as the staff was two servers. I think one was new and training as she was given lots of direction but the other staff person. Not meanly, just showing her what to do. I will definitely go back for dinner again.
