The weather is really beautiful right now. Not sure it will stay that way as the long term weather forecast on my phone says it is to get cooler and rainy towards the weekend. Right now it is in the 70s and sunny. I am not the only one taking advantage of the weather as there are lots of people out and enjoying the weather.

I walked along the river this afternoon and saw lots of outside activity. There were rowers on the river. A unicyclist racing along the path. As an aside, I rode a unicycle when I was in high school, I know that is weird. Someone gave me the unicycle as they were moving and I decided I had to learn to ride it. It was great as we had a wall on the road out in front of the house that was the right height to hold onto as I learned. I got good at riding it and could ride around West Point on it. Going up hills were always the most difficult. Sorry for the aside.

I continued walking over to the Jardin des Plantes. It is a large park with waterfall and canal, merry-go-round and children play park and other options for use. I sat on the grass and read my book and just enjoyed the day. I did people watching as well.

The flowers and trees are definitely coming into leaf and bloom. It is getting very green and pretty.

Afterwards, with the use of new technology which is amazing, I FaceTimed with a friend. It is amazing how much technology has changed. When I last did an adventure like this in 2006, backpacking around the world for 3.5 months by myself, the options of staying in touch and communicating were much more limited. I had a Blackberry and when blogging (https://pwbworldtrip.wordpress.com)had to go Internet cafes. There were not Kindles so I had carry paperback books to read. It limited my ability to find books as I had to find English language book stores to restock. The good thing was everyone left books in guest houses as they finished them so that made it a little easier.

I fixed a nice dinner of baked trout, fresh peas and salad. I got a half bottle of white wine for both baking the trout and to drink. The wine was 4 euros. It was very good. I finished dinner with strawberries and cream.

I broke down and watched a movie on Netflix before I went to bed. I had been trying to skip watching things but felt it was okay to watch a move.
