The flight from Dulles to Brussels was affected by turbulence – nothing severe but fairly bumpy all the way. It was a good flight overall. I have to say pre-ordering the Asian vegetarian meal is a good option. The food is never dried out and is pretty interesting. You even get a special breakfast with it.
Transiting through Brussels was very easy. When we landed and had to go through passport control, there were only four people in line including me so it was quick and super easy. The airport is medium size but very easy to navigate. It is basically too parallel long concourses. One for international flights and one for inside Europe. Since I am a spoiled brat and was flying business class, I could access the business class lounge so my two hour layover was pleasant.

After arriving in Toulouse. I took the airport bus and hopped off at the stop nearest to the apartment. It was the first stop on the bus so it was a quick ride. I had to walk about a kilometer to the building but it was an easy walk. I followed the host’s instructions and easily got into the apartment.
The apartment is just what I need for my stay. It is more modern than the last apartment I stayed in which is nice. It is a one bedroom with living room/dining room with a separate kitchen. It is on the fifth floor but there is an elevator so not as many flights of stairs as my last stay. It is on the river but the backside of the building so I do not have a river view but there is a garden view. It is a little farther from central Toulouse than the other apartment but not much farther.
After getting settled, I wandered around Toulouse getting familiar with the city again. It was a lovely day but very windy. It was fun to revisit places that I had been to last time I was here. I had a hot chocolate at one of my favorite cafes in the city. I walked along the river and just took in the sites of the city. It is nice to be back in familiar settings. It was somewhat like coming home again.
I have dinner reservations at La Madeline de Proust tonight. Very small but lovely restaurant that I visited once last time I was here.
Tomorrow I will do some more getting settled as there a couple of things that I need to get for the apartment – primarily better wine glasses. The ones in this apartment are the same as the other which are the small round glasses that old Italian restaurants use. Then it will be joining the Run in Toulouse group for the Thursday run.
