Another beautiful day in Toulouse

It started out being cloudy and rainy in the morning but by afternoon, the weather had changed and it turned out to be a beautiful sunny but chilly day. It was the first day I felt the need to wear a coat when I headed out.

I took a very long walk in the afternoon. I realize my time here is coming to an end and I need to savor all the experiences I can before I head back to DC. I walked a route that I had run with the running group but it was at night so I could not see everything. The route was sort of southeast along the Garonne river. They have beautiful walking, running, biking paths all the way along the river in the city. I walked about 2.5 miles out along the river and then crossed over and walked 2.5 miles back. The views were great and it was just such a nice day that it was a great walk.

As I was walking back, the sun started to set and this gave picture perfect views of the city.

After the walk, I sat at a cafe and had a beer. I realized I made it as a French person as it was chilly and I was willing to sit outside and watch the people go by as I drank the beer. It was fun to sit and just enjoy the street life even though I could not do it for long as it got cold once the sun had gone down.

In the evening, I did my usual dinner at Le Panache. I had Chanterelles in Mushroom sauce for the starter and it was unbelievable. I am not sure have had as good a dish in a very long time. The chanterelles were woodsy tasting and had intense flavor. There were croutons in the dish so it had great texture. There was sea salt sprinkled on top. The whole thing was just fantastic. The Scallop risotto was great as well. It is always fun to eat at Le Panache. I had a nice conversation with the chef as well.

I, also, tried to get a picture of the new rose window at Saint Sernin but it is partially hidden behind the organ so I do not think the picture does it justice but it is quite beautiful.
