A regular day

It was another non-exciting regular day for me. This is good as sometimes I think that I have to be out doing something exciting every day because of my limited time in Toulouse. I realize if I want to move here permanently that not every day will be exciting and packed with activities.

I had skipped my long run on Sunday as it was drizzling for most of the afternoon and knew I could run on Monday. It was a great idea as Monday turned out to be a beautiful day so the run was great. I ran the route out the Canal di Midi knowing that once I got past the urban part of the canal, it would be a run with no stops and would be able to keep to a steady pace. Also, on Monday the canal is not crowded with walkers, bikers and families.

I run by the Aerospace complex on my run along the canal and saw this building which I thought was interesting.

I did a good ten mile run. I have improved my running greatly since I have been in Toulouse which makes me happy. I had slacked off after my final marathon and not really felt the pleasure I had with running before that time. I have recovered my love of running and it shows. I have been averaging 20 or more miles a week. I really hope that my running continues when I get back to Alexandria.

Other than the run, I did some grocery shopping as I needed some staples so I walked over to the Intermarche supermarket. One of the bigger grocery stores that I found and bought milk, orange juice, cereal and some other staples.

After the shopping, I came back and made dinner. I am getting better at using the induction stove so dinners are getting more creative and better. It is great to have all the fresh food to cook and enjoy. Since I have found the patisserie which makes fabulous pastries, I have dessert every night.

I had a little charcuterie while dinner was cooking.

I realized I do not have much time left on this trip so booked a final longer trip. I am heading to Reims in the northeast of the country. It is the heartland of champagne so am hoping to taste a lot of good champagne while I am there. I am looking forward to that trip as the final big adventure.

Toulouse is getting ready for Christmas. Many of the stores are decorated and the Christmas market is getting set up. It opens this weekend but I will miss the start as I will be in Reims but look forward to returning and enjoying.
