I went for my regular walk today and ended up being out and by river during sunset. I was on the Pont Neuf and decided to take a picture of the city. It gets a pink glow because of the red bricks but I could not get an angle that showed it being pink. I started looking around for other picture options and I looked sort of northwest at the sunset and I saw mountains in the background of the shot. They were fairly large mountains since I could see them easily. I had never seen the mountains in the distance before. There are three options:

1.) I am completely obtuse and never noticed them before even though I have walked along the river and looked in the direction where the mountains were before.
2.) The city does have some pollution issues and maybe that and haze has prevented the mountains from being seen. It has been crystal clear and completely beautiful the last two days.
3.) Maybe the mountains are only really visible during that time of day when the sun highlights them when it is setting and I was not out looking at sunset.
Whatever the reason, they look incredible. I am going to head back out in the future to see if they are there other times now that I know they are there.
After picture taking, I sat at a cafe and had a local beer as I watched the sunset. It was a little chilly to be sitting outside but the view made it worth it.

In the evening, I went to Le Panache for dinner. My usual Friday night activity. The guys were great and dinner was delicious as usual. The dishes offered are minimal so I had the same dish I had before but it was delicious. I did have a different starter so it was not a complete repeat.
