Today’s post will be short as it has been pouring all day long. I gather that the rain is pretty bad all over southern France. The local news is reporting floods to the west of Toulouse. Toulouse is under watches for rain, wind and flooding.

I went out earlier when it was not pouring. I saw the first signs of fall on the walk by the river. A tree had all yellow leaves and they were blowing off in the wind.

Since it was a rainy day, I needed something to make the day brighter and went and found a cafe where I could have a hot beverage and a pastry. For those who have seen my IG post (@pwb1956), I had a fun pastry called Madame Perlette (Perlette is the name of the cafe).

The rest of the day I read and enjoyed the sound of the rain on my roof. My apartment is on the top floor of a 3 story apartment in what used to be the attic so I have a nice melody of rain on the roof. I did what everyone should do on a rainy afternoon in Toulouse, a glass of wine, cheese and bread.

I did not go to the run group this evening as I did not know whether they would run on a night like tonight but from their IG account, I saw that some people showed up. I will know better for the next time it rains and will go our and run.
